Jeff Fager: Jeff Fager built a career at CBS News that spanned nearly four decades, beginning in entry-level newsroom roles and later advancing to executive producer of 60 Minutes and chairman of the division. Jeff is most closely associated with his long tenure as 60 Minutes' executive producer and his role in guiding CBS News through a changing media environment. Jeff started in television news in the late 1970s after graduating from Colgate University with a degree in English literature. He began at a CBS affiliate in Boston, where he worked as a production assistant, writer, and assignment editor. He later moved to KPIX-TV in San Francisco, where he became a broadcast producer. In the early 1980s, he contributed to CBS News programs, including the weekend CBS Evening News and Nightwatch. He then transitioned to international assignments, based in London, where he covered key global events, including conflicts in the Middle East, the 1986 U.S. bombing of Libya, and meetings between Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev.
